The river that produced the fatal floods runs down the West edge of Chitwan region (see map). Many churches and individual Christians have been affected in this disaster. Whole towns and villages disappeared under mud on the day of the flood and the surviving families and children have had to relocate to refugee centres away from the river area.

Appeal update, 17th September

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have sent just over £4,500 to Nepal in two weeks. Our updates below show you how the money was spent and here is a message of thanks from Pastor Solomon, our "man on the ground" :

Appeal update, 9th September

We have compiled a short video from footage sent to us by Pastor Solomon from his first two runs to survivor camps. It highlights the conditions they are having to endure just to get to the disaster area. Due to a main highway bridge having been swept away in the flood, a 3 hour journey has become a 12 hour trek over muddy mountain roads!

Pastor Salaman has been moving fast! He has already made two visits to the flood-affected areas and delivered aid to over 100 families. We are preparing a video to show some of the work of him and his team, but here is a message he sent us following his second aid trip :

Appeal update, 4th September

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have already sent £3,600 to Pastor Salaman. Yesterday he travelled to Kathmandu with a small team to buy supplies and hire trucks to deliver the aid back to the flood-affected area today.

The aid the team has purchased with our donations will supply 100 families with :

• Pressure cooker -3ltr
• Blankets
• Dasna (bedding mat )
• Pillows and cover 
• Bedsheets
• Underwear for men and women 
• ⁠Diapers for babies 
• ⁠Cosmetics items (soap etc)
• ⁠Sanitary pads

More floods are feared and the above is only a first assessment. So many people have lost everything, besides family members missing or dead. The churches are doing what they can but they urgently need our help. We will update this page as more news arrives.
