Pastor Salaman Lama is the missions pastor for his church in a village not far from the city of Bharatpur in Chitwan region. He approached us with a view to WRA taking a mission team to help evangelise the area, particularly in the smaller hill villages in Chitwan. 

If you Google Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal, you will see that this is in the area so badly hit by a flash-flood in August 2026.  Through our Nepal appeal, Pastor Salaman has been able to provide essential aid to families who lost everything except the clothes they escaped the flood in!

WRA is planning to take a team to Nepal to work with Pastor Salaman in November 2027. This work will include street evangelism, training pastors and leaders, healing services in towns and small groups travelling to hill villages to evangelise and to encourage existing churches. 

Details (provisional at this stage) :

To join the team in November 2027 is expected to cost each team member between £1,500 and £2,000. This is based on 2026 prices, as we cannot yet get flight details so far ahead. We will make provision for team members to pay towards this monthly to make it easier to reach the full amount.

Dates planned so far are 17 - 29 November, the first and last dates being the flights from and to UK.

Besides personal travel costs, we will be fundraising to pay for some of the events out there. This is normal in a country as poor as Nepal and we expect to be paying for buses, food and possibly marquees as well. We will expect each team member to do their own fund-raising to contribute towards these extra costs. We may also be involved in aid work in the aftermath of this year's horrendous floods.
