Mission to Patagonia

22nd March to 1st April

Paul Button

It is an amazing honour and privilege for me to lead a team of 16 evangelists and Mission24 School of ministry students to the East coast of Patagonia in Argentina, a nation that has seen revival for over 30 years. This is the first time for me to lead an overseas mission after receiving much training on previous overseas missions from Ev Jonathan Conrathe (mission24.co.uk). We depart on 22/3/24 and spend the first 3 days in Buenos Aires (BA) where we will minister in the church of Pastor Amilicar (president of BA council of pastors). We will also visit Rey de Reys (the church of Claudio Freidson) and the offices of Carlos Annocondia and team. We see this as an impartation and equipping time from these mighty revivalists, as further preparation for our time in Patagonia.

We fly south to Trelew on 26/3/24 where our main host is Pastor Maximiliano Gianfelici, based in Rawson. We will visit the governor of Chubut province, Mr. Ignacio Torres, and also several city Mayors in the hope of forming strong bonds for future missions here. We have been blessed with the supply of 20,000 Spanish and 5,000 Welsh "Gospels of John" (see right), kindly donated by Darren Millar (member of the Senedd). Darren has also extended invitations to many of the pastors in the region to attend the 2025 St David's day prayer breakfast at the Senedd in Cardiff.

Our evangelists will be witnessing and preaching on the streets of many cities in the region, and we will be holding many gospel/healing services in the evenings. We will visit the AOG bible college in Gaiman to prepare for future partnerships. We will also be involved in children's work and youth work in Puerto Madryn. Sunday 31st March will be our final evangelistic meeting before we depart back to the UK, via Buenos Aires. The cost of this trip totals approximately £25,000 and the bill is met by each of the travelling evangelist volunteers. We are hoping that this mission will be year one of a multi-year plan and appreciate any prayers and financial support that you are able to give.  Here are the thoughts of Rev Claudio Cocquet (Mission24 South American co- ordinator)...

"Previous trips to Argentina have always been approached under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In a vast country like Argentina there are many places one could think of benefitting from having us to reach the lost. I always work relationally, so when the Lord put in my heart the idea of visiting the Welsh settlements in Patagonia I immediately thought of Paul Button, one of our lead evangelists in Mission24.

"I knew of his passion for revival, in particular among the Welsh people, so I mentioned to Paul about the Welsh descendants in Patagonia and that we could think and pray about visiting some of those settlements.

"The next step was to think about who I may know in those places or who among my contacts could connect me with key leaders there. My good friend Pastor Amilcar (Head of Buenos Aires Counsel of Pastors) gave me Pastor Maxi's details and that was the beginning of several God-appointed video calls that are resulting in a wide door of opportunities to visit all the settlements in Northern Patagonia, in the east by the South Atlantic Ocean and in the west, at the foot of the glorious Andes mountains. We await with great anticipation what the Lord is going to do through our missions with Paul and his team."
